In Ancient times, art was more than a form of entertainment or decoration, being a means of preserving various forms and levels of knowledge, including scientific principles. A core element is called "The Canon", whereby through ratio, proportion, shape and symbolism, an entire system of universal knowledge can be encoded and preserved.

Vortex Systems
The vortex, a key element of 19th century aether physics, was critical to W.D. Gann’s market science and was taken up by great thinkers like Walter Russell and Edwin Babbitt. Vortex and Toroidal energy theory provides a dynamic space-time model of energy fields from human and plants to planets, suns, solar systems, and galaxies.

The work of Dr. Baumring is the core inspiration upon which this entire website is based. Baumring is the only known modern person to have cracked the code behind WD Gann’s system of trading and market order. Baumring found and elaborated the system of scientific cosmology at the root of Gann’s Law of Vibration. There is no other Gann teaching that gets close to the depth of Baumring’s work.

The Perennial Wisdom The Unbroken Chain of Knowledge Supporting Sacred Science Theory

The history of financial or commodity forecasting is as old as history itself with the first records reaching back over 3000 years to ancient Egyptian times.

Joseph’s Prophecy

Most people will be familiar the famous Biblical story of Joseph and the Coat of Many Colors, where Joseph is sold into slavery in Egypt, and has a dream that is reported to the Pharaoh that there will be 7 years of plenty and 7 years of famine, and that the stocks of grain from the 7 years of plenty should be store housed in order to supply the country during the time of famine. The Pharaoh orders this plan to be carried out and Joseph saves the country from starvation as a result, thereby landing the position of Vizier of Egypt (equivalent to Prime Minister) and ends up marrying the daughter of the Pharaoh.

There are many interesting implications and lessons to be taken from this story, such as the possibility that the future already exists and is capable of being known and foretold, the potential ability of dreams or other abilities or prognostication techniques to see into the future, the existence of cycles of weather causing plenty and drought in commodities that can be tracked and predicted, the idea of governing a nation according to such knowledge and foresight, and the high honor given to those capable of demonstrating a proficiency in such knowledge.

Seers Sages & Shamans: Adherents of the Perennial Wisdom

Originally a divination manual in the Western Zhou period (1000–750 BC), The I Ching is an ancient text possessing a history of more than two and a half millennia worth of commentary and interpretation. This text provides ongoing providing inspiration to the worlds of religion, psychoanalysis, business, literature, and art.

Indeed, the history of prophetic “seers,” sages, Shamans, astrologers, and wise men of such special capacity or knowledge advising rulers and kings long precedes even this story and continues in an unbroken chain throughout history, even up to modern times, in every country and every society across the globe. There are varied “prophetic sciences” that are used across these different cultures and traditions to produce these results, from psychics or “seers” as in Joseph’s case, to prophets, astrologers, forecasters, fortune tellers, I-Ching readers, and numerous other traditions from ancient to recent times, the subject matter of which represents a large section of the catalog on this website.

But without digressing into specific details or engaging in any form of analysis or criticism of any particular system, what we would like to emphasize is that this tradition of knowledge and its practical application is older than any other tradition of knowledge in the world. It has maintained a track record of support and successful use, NOT by the ignorant and foolish, but by the MOST intelligent, talented, rich and powerful individuals and leaders of society throughout all of history.

Many of these traditions rely heavily upon advanced and intricate mathematical, astronomical, cyclical, mental or energetic complexity. To accomplish these ends the practitioners often endured rigorous study and training or possessed natural gifts which demonstrate the furthest reaches of human potential.

The Study of Forecasting Systems

But the one conclusion that can be drawn from all of these facts and histories, is that there is no question that such predictions and forecasts have been accomplished innumerable times in the past. With that being the case, there must be some methodology, mechanism or means by which such future seeing or prediction can be accomplished and potentially explained if not thoroughly quantified and systematized.

The study of such systems of prophecy and forecasting is one of our key specializations that informs one side of our research and study, the other side being the scientific foundations and principles upon which such prophetic systems could be based, explained and quantified. The integration of scientific method with the esoteric techniques of prediction and foresight as demonstrated by these ancient and modern sages and systems defines the core of CosmoEconomic research and theory.

The ultimate goal of this research is to find a scientific basis and system capable of defining a general theory behind what is considered esoteric tradition and practice.

What has remained hidden within the realms of “mysticism” or “occultism” has only done so because there has been little effort by the mainstream scientific community to penetrate these fields and shed the light of understanding within them.

When Magic Becomes Science

Many other fields that were once considered to fall within the realms of Magic, such as eclipses, lightning and electricity, or flight, have, through the advancement of research and technology, been instead reclassified into the fields of science and engineering. How likely is it that the science of 500 years from now will classify many subjects that modern academia rejects as “mysticism” or delusion as future fields of common science?

This does not mean, however, that such research has not been conducted by highly respected scientists, engineers and inventors of modern technology. Actually, this study is nothing new, since in the past these two perspectives were never separated into disconnected fields, but were always embraced as a unified system of knowledge. The science of the ancients, which laid the foundations for modern science, saw these two sides of the equation as one fully integrated tradition or system. Indeed, some would argue that the ancients understood a lot more about this science than is known today, as demonstrated by artifacts left by ancient civilizations that can neither be reproduced nor explained by our best scientists and engineers of today.

“The School of Athens”, 1511, by Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino. This mural depicts Plato and Aristotle as the central figures in the scene. The subject of the image is “Philosophy,” in the ancient Greek sense. The overhead tondo-label, “Causarum Cognitio”, echoes Aristotle’s emphasis on wisdom as knowing why, hence knowing the causes.

In fact, it is only very recently that the esoteric sciences have fallen out of favor by the socialized academic intelligentsia, as this science has been known, used and embraced by most of the greatest minds of human civilization. In fact, there remained an active investigation of these fields through the late 1800’s, even within mainstream science.

It was only in the last century that such integrative investigations became less common and the modern materialistic perspective began to dominate academic science. This left idealism based research to be engaged in only by the most open-minded and cutting-edge of academic researchers, while the deeper exploration into these subjects fell into specialized fields of expertise, or were taken up by non-academic researchers outside of the intolerant mainstream community.

Day Trading
Approaches to trading begin with choice of a time window. Day or intraday trading focuses on short term swings, generally not holding positions overnight. Although Gann, trading before the electroinc age, did not favor short term trading, his techniques do work on this level, since similar patterns exist on every time frame whether very small or very large.
Grain Trading
Grain Trading
Grain Trading
Gann gave much attention to grain markets, and in particular Wheat, Corn and Soybeans. Gann had a Wheat chart back to 65 BC, which Baumring took back to 1200 BC. Long historical data made Wheat a premier market to study long term cycles, and grain markets depend on weather, a secondary phenomenon which Gann also studied and analyzed.
Position Trading
AstroEconomics
AstroEconomics
Position trading is an approach recommended by both Gann and Baumring, saying that there were maybe only about 4 good trades per year in any market. Markets would go into congestions of accumulation or distribution for years awaiting a new trend, and meanwhile one trades other markets. Gann taught the same principles on his higher level, saying that MOST money was always made in following a strong trend.

The Canon
The Canon refers primarily to an ancient esoteric system of knowledge and cosmology encoded into temples, artifacts, art and monuments. The Egyptians had a specific Canon to lay out the grids upon which they designed their art, and there are also canons of proportion used in the Renaissance, as well as by later artists, geometers and musicians.
